Let's Zine It Out!
Got a gut feeling about the microbiome, want to know more about Techneolaíochtaí Urlabhra don Ghaeilge, 'feeling the heat' in our research village or there's just some topic that you want to explore on a deeper level?
Then come along to one of our Zine Workshops and let's zine it out. Working with an A3 page, scissors, collage and colouring materials, create your very own zine packed with colour, thoughts, problems to solve and research ideas. Workshops will take place at 3pm, 4.30pm and 6pm and will last for 1 hour. No need to book!
Citizen Science Café
Join members of the TCD Science and Society Research Group and Creative Spark Enterprise FabLab for coffee / tea and chats to find out more about their plans to establish a Citizen Science Network in Ireland. Untold Stories of Scientists: Botany Storytelling interactive performance
Ever feel like there’s a wall between science and you? Researchers are often seen as smart, machine-like, and emotionless beings. While we do work with data and logical understandings, it’s important to remember that we’re also human, driven by deep emotions and beliefs that got us into science in the first place.
Join us from 2pm - 7pm for this interactive storytelling performance that sheds light on the personal, emotional stories of researchers in the Botany Department. We aim to share our personal stories of success, failure, sadness, anger, and happiness, in the form of a human "audiobook", all to engage with you from a new perspective and show you what it’s really like to live as a researcher. Through these untold stories, we hope to change perspectives on science and researchers, fostering a deeper connection between people and science—all as part of European Researcher’s Night.
Come to PARADISE!
In PARADISE we are researching personalised medicine in autoimmune disease. Millions of people are affected by autoimmune conditions and have a reduced quality of life. We focus on ANCA associated vasculitis which is a rare disease that affects many organs in the body. In PARADISE we use patient information to find signals that are linked to relapses.
Come by on ReseaRchers’ Night to explore the cells of the immune system which are the major players in this disease. Our researchers will be at hand to talk about the work that we are doing in the lab. Grab the chance to zoom in on human immune cells under the microscope or join us for our cell game and colouring. We will have something for everyone in PARADISE.
